Customer Rights
Policyholder, Insured, Beneficiary and Consumer Associations have the possibility to submit a written complaint to the Private Insurance Supervision Directorate (DEIA) of the Bank of Greece against an insurance intermediary for acts or omissions that constitute violations of the legislation on insurance mediation, as well as provisions of the .D 190/2006 and of N4261/5-5-2014 or contravene good morals or impinge on public order or acts that, in the reasoned judgment of DEIA, can be attributed to the insurance intermediary. The written complaint is examined by the competent DEIA committee after a previous hearing by the insurance mediator in which the complainant has the right to a reasoned response. Any such dispute may, with the consent of the parties involved, be referred by the Directorate of Private Insurance Supervision (DEIA) to the Independent Authority "Hellenic Consumer’ Ombudsman", without thereby limiting the possibility of the parties to proceed to an out-of-court resolution of the dispute before other judicial bodies.
