Drones Insurance

Drones are the new technological fad and are conquering more and more people every day, escaping the narrow confines of film makers and winning more and more our hearts.

To any of you, who own or operate a drone professionally or just for fun.

Drones are divided into three categories: open, special and certified. Based on Civil Aviation Authority regulation, operators/owner of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly known as drones, are required to have Liability coverage as they may cause bodily injury or property damage to third parties.
Also, if their flight is conducted at a distance of more than 50 meters from the pilot, they should be registered in a special register kept by the CAA.

Specifically, Third Party Liability insurance is required for each drone:

a) used for professional purposes
b) that weights 4 kg or more for private use

This implies that insurance is mandatory for UAS’s of all categories in case of professional use.
